Greetings, welcome to my blog! My name is Minju Kim. I go to Hopewell Elementary school in Iowa. One thing that I love to do outside of school is dance. I also can play instruments such as the flute, violin, and piano. When it comes to reading I would say I am an average reader. I would only read if it was assigned as homework because I’m not really into books. It wasn’t really something I would do either if I had extra time, but sometimes I would read a book that I am really into and then I can’t put it down. This year in 6th grade my teacher, Mrs Hornick has influenced me a lot more to read. She would always make sure I have the right book for myself and if I don’t really like the book she will help me find another one that I prefer. Also, my teacher from last year in 5th grade, Mrs Cline, influenced me to read a lot by letting my class share some books as suggestions to read so other people can write down what books sound interesting to them. Then, we would have a list of books that we all wanted to read which motivated us to keep reading. In addition, something that I would want to try is helping others recommend a book that is right for them because I think it is important to read a book that they like instead of just reading a book that isn’t really interesting to them. I believe that everyone has a chance to read a book that fits them because everyone needs a book that is right for them and something that they enjoy. On this blog I plan to share the books I read and my journey as a leader in reading and how my perspective changes with what I read.
